What happens on a Doody's Educational Workshop?

We normally have an opening assembly with all the children and explain what they will all be doing during their workshop session. The assembly is then dismissed and each class brought back for their own workshop. Each workshop is conducted with all the children participating in the same activity at the same time. This allows for those, who pick up a certain skill quickly to encourage the rest of the class. This again promotes a sense of being in a team. It also prevents the class from becoming fragmented. We find that participants get very little reward from a "Round Robin" style workshop as the teacher can not be with each group all the time.
